Watch the two videos and give your reflections, addressing any of the questions below or giving other comments you may have? - What can be done in church organizations to prevent fraud?
- Describe some of the policies/procedures in your organization to deter fraud.
- What are some other Scripture passages that can be referenced to encourage a person to do the "right" thing?

1. Church organisation can have some internal controls put in place and ensure that they are adhered to. It is not enough to have them documented somewhere and not bother whether they are implemented or not. The person generating a transaction must be different from the person authorising a transaction. As much as possible the person initiating it should not generate and authorise the same. there must be adequate segregation of duties. 2. Person authorising a transaction can not post it. Person doing disbursements or Receipting can not be the same person doing a bank reconciliation statement. Monthly and random cash counts. In local churches there is a deacons register of all tithe envelopes, at least two unrelated people count the money together, the treasurer receipts and issues receipts to members and to the deacons for loose offerings. 3. Luke 12:15 Take heed and beware of covertousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of things he possesses. Proverbs 23:4,5; Ecclesiastes 5:10; Malachi 3:8-10; Proverbs 3:9, 10; Philippians 4:12 and Proverbs 10:22
